Pakistanis who have recovered from Covid-19 are earning small fortunes in a black market trade in plasma for experimental therapy to treat the sick.

Desperate families of corona-virus patients are using social media to appeal to those who have recovered and offer them money for blood donations so their relatives can be given potentially healing plasma.

Donors are being given as much as 200,000 rupees (£1,000) for a sample, in a payday representing around a year’s wages for lowly laborers.
